Animated Videos

In this post, I will share about a platform which can be used for creating educational videos. I accidentally found this platform (for creating animated videos) while scrolling YouTube.

Now, I would like to mention the pros and cons of this platform:

The things I like about renderforest is that it is very user-friendly and it is very simple to use. You can create attractive presentation without much efforts. It has few themes and scenes using which you can create your videos. You only need to select the theme, select the scenes, add texts, add music and that's it.

Cons of renderforest are that it's free version comes with a watermark and you can create a video of only 3 minutes. Also, the themes and scenes are limited.

Mind Maps

Mind maps are great tools to simplify and organise the notes.

By using a Mind Map, an entire chapter of ,say, 30 to 40 pages is reduced to one page.

Mind Maps will be very helpful before the exam time when the students don't have the time to go through complete notes of all the chapters. With a mind map in hand they can refer only one page for each chapter. So mind maps are good revision tools.

I always ask my students to prepare a Mind Map for every chapter particularly in the subject Business Studies. They have come up with beautiful and creative mind maps.

Fun Based Learning

There are certain resources over the internet using which we can create crosswords, fill in the blanks, matching, numbering and other exercises and games.

I have incorporated some of these exercises in my teaching and evaluating activities and students enjoy these exercises. So it is a good way to engage students in learning without them feeling any kind of burden of studies.

I would like to share some of the sites using which such exercises can be created.

Quizzes

A quiz helps the students to test their knowledge on a subject matter. At the same time, it is also helpful in revision of the content. Conducting frequent quizzes will help in motivating the students to study and reducing procrastination.

There are various platforms for creating quizzes for engaging our students in learning. Some of the quiz makers that I have used are:

1. Google Forms
2. Microsoft Forms
3. Proprofs
4. Quiz-maker

Google and Microsoft Forms are the simplest and they are free. There are many options like setting a timer, getting responses in your email, checking summary charts etc.
