NATURE & SIGNIFICANCE OF MANAGEMENT

  1. In a company, the target production of 100 garments per month was estimated at cost of Rs 200 per garment.

Mohan worked double shift and manufactured around 150 garments at the cost of Rs 230 per garment.

Ravi manufactured 90 garments at the cost of Rs 190 per garment.

Samir achieved the target of 100 garments at the cost of Rs 200 per garment.

  1. Identify the quality possessed by Ravi, Mohan and Samir. Also point out where they are lacking.

  2. Which worker is preferred by management?

  1. In a company, profits are declining. The sales department blames production department for low quality and the production department blames purchase department for not supplying good quality parts. Which quality of management is lacking in the above case?

  1. Three groups of employees of “Krishna Ltd” are working at different posts. The first group of employees is responsible for welfare and survival of the organisation. 

The second group of employees is responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards and minimising wastages. The responsibility of third group of employees is to explain the policies decided by the top management and developing the feeling of cooperation among all the departments of the company.

Influenced by them, this company also had to install similar machines. Before the employees could protest against this technology, they were given the training in it. Hence, the employees accepted this change happily. The company felt happy with their work and rewarded them. The management had directed all employees to have free and informal communication, give suggestions, lodge complaints and even talk about their personal matters. Identify the three points of importance of management described in the above paragraph by quoting the relevant lines.
